M-Audio Brand in Uganda

In 2012, AVID announced the sale of some of its brands to the newly formed inMusic Corporation. Among the transferred trademarks was the M-Audio brand. According to AVID, the sale of AIR Software Group and M-Audio is related to the company's intention to focus on purely professional products for large studio and film / television production. M-Audio is currently part of the inMusic corporation, which is made up of many well-known audio equipment manufacturers. These are Akai Professional, Alesis, Alto Professional, ION Audio, MixMeister, Numark and Sonivox and others. During the merger, inMusic promised to ensure that the developers of M-Audio, Akai Professional, AIR Software, Alesis and Numark will work together in the design of new equipment. Under the terms of the agreement, the Fast Track line of interfaces remained with AVID. The new M-Audio M-Track series of low-cost interfaces consists of three external USB interfaces, two of which are updated Alesis devices. So, M-Track is analogous to Alesis iO2 Expres M-Audio Brand in Uganda s, and M-Track Plus is Alesis iO2. We'll start our series of reviews with the most affordable M-Audio M-Track interface. Since we have not yet encountered these devices under any brand name, the intrigue has remained for us and our readers. M-Track is an entry-level interface with a retail price of about 5 thousand rubles. Despite this, the interface has all the features of a professional device and has all the necessary features, starting with fully balanced inputs and outputs. The device is dual-channel, so don't be confused by the many connections. On the other hand, the input connectors of the M-Track are not combined, but are located separately - for an XLR microphone, for a guitar / line-level TRS. This is very convenient, since when recording from multiple sources, you do not need to constantly reconnect wires to the combo jacks. Despite the USB bus power, 48 V phantom power can be used for the mic inputs. A high impedance mode is also available for connecting a guitar. Switching the operating mode of the input linear / guitar is carried out with a toggle switch. In addition, the M-Track has insert connectors for connecting external effects processors to the chain. It is very convenient that the headphone output is regulated separately from the general volume. The headphone amplifier has a large headroom. High impedance headphones such as the Beyerdynamic DR 990 PRO can be successfully used. Like many similar devices, M-Track is equipped with hardware monitoring of the incoming signal. In addition to adjusting the monitoring volume in relation to the overall level, there is a switch from mono to stereo mode. The mono mode is useful when monitoring vocals, while the stereo mode is useful when recording stereo sound sources from the line-in. All controls are located on the top panel of the device. On the back there is a USB connector, line-out and MIDI-in / out. The M-Track is powered exclusively from the USB bus, the device does not provide stand-alone operation. In the middle of the case is a 4-segment input level meter - this is often lacking in inexpensive interfaces. The level scale is marked in dB and has a three-color indication. Green LEDs light up when the signal is up to -6 dB, the yellow LED lights up when the signal is up to -3 dB, and above and overload - red. In addition, the device has a USB connection indicator, phantom power on, and a MIDI I / O indicator. Almost all adjustments are made by hardware knobs and switches. The sound card control panel allows you to select only the sampling rate and the size of the ASIO buffer in samples. The maximum operating mode is 24 bit 48 kHz. The device works with any music software on Windows and Mac OS operating systems. The audio interface comes with AIR Ignite and Ableton Live Lite 8 software. We disassembled the M-Track and looked inside. On the textolite boards one could see the Alesis inscriptions. Passport specifications M-Audio M-Track https://jiji.ug/brand/m_audio
